Notes on the work from 1980 - 2024
Intensum and Extensum projects:
The work seeks to balance intensive inner worlds with endlessly extending worlds without. To do so in a process as natural as breathing in and breathing out, and as in the surging in and out of the tidal flows of the oceans.
In these installations of body-related working components, some of which have been in the environment, there is a contrast between their presence and the wall works which relate to ideas and thinking. The orchestrations of materials, some harmonious and some discordant, are drawn from the accumulations (the Rhodos) extending over a long period of time. The intention is to allow the work to make itself and have a life of its own.
The ongoing series of Stained Silences installations began in 1981 with a show in the Print Room of the CSA (now CoCA).
